Last Friday, the last four of six Second Stage tournaments that open the door to the Final Stage of the Web.com Tour Q-School were completed.
Writing at pgatour.com, Sean Martin put together an interesting synopsis of each site in terms of which notables made it through and which ones didn’t. It’s interesting because whether the notable is a well-known Tour player or lesser-known but high-visibility amateur, it is impressive how many possess distinctive accomplishments and titles. In a way, it seems to ratify the six Pre-Qualifying and twelve First Stage tournaments to cull the herd of aspirants.
Highlighting Martin’s post came to mind because of a comment last week from a reader about just how good professional golfers are and how little that’s understood by the general public.
Anyway, it makes for good reading and it doesn’t take long to skim it.
The Final Stage runs from December 12th through the 17th at the PGA West Stadium Course in La Quinta, California. Players advancing to the Final Stage are guaranteed status on the Web.com Tour for 2014.
