As most of you who follow golf know, the final round of the Waste Management Phoenix Open spilled over into Monday.
As I said in yesterday’s post, I followed Tommy Gainey all day yesterday. When they stopped due to darkness with putts still to make on the 13th green, Gainey had made two bogeys in a row on 11 and 12, Mark Wilson birdied 12 and Gainey’s one-shot lead flipped to a two-shot deficit. Both players played very steadily all day long yesterday, so it should be an exciting final six holes. With many of them birdie holes, it should be a shootout.
I’m on my way out to the 13th green now and I’ll have a complete post on the final round later in the day.
